Foresight Practitioner Conference (FPC) 2027
The International Institute of Forecasters (IIF) has officially opened applications for the Foresight Practitioner Conference (FPC) 2027! Scheduled for March 5–6, 2027, at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.), this conference is designed for business leaders, forecasting practitioners and preeminent researchers looking to bridge the gap between forecasting theory and real-world impact to network and critically explore the latest advances in forecasting.
The Speakers We’re Looking For
- Organizational leaders and executives who can speak to forecasting’s impact on business value, not just technical accuracy
- Government leaders and C-level executives who can speak to the real needs of forecast users, the total value forecasting delivers, how critical it is to their organization’s mission, and the future “dream state” capabilities that would move their biggest strategic and financial priorities
- Vendors and SaaS providers in the forecasting, planning, AI, and analytics space — particularly for panel discussions on tools, implementation, and adoption
- Forecasting practitioners working inside organizations — demand planners, forecasting leads, and data science and analytics teams applying forecasting in production
- S&OP / S&OE leaders who can speak to how forecasts are translated into supply, inventory, and operational decisions
- FP&A professionals connecting forecasting to budgeting, financial planning, and strategic decision making
- Supply chain and operations professionals who rely on forecasts to plan day-to-day business operations
- Academic researchers presenting practitioner-relevant, evidence-based work that bridges research and practice
How to Submit: Submissions are open now and will be accepted on a rolling basis until all slots are filled. Proposals require a short bio, session title, and a 200–300 word abstract.

Call for Competition Entrants – 2027 IIF Forecasting Practice CompetitionIIF is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual IIF Forecasting Practice Competition, in conjunction with the Foresight Practitioner Conference. The IIF Forecasting Practice Competition aims to recognize and showcase businesses or institutions that achieve significant impact by applying forecasting, while contributing to the forecasting community. The first-place winner will receive the IIF Award for the Impact of Forecasting in Practice, plus a $10,000 prize. Finalist presentations will take place at the conference venue in Arlington, VA on March 4, 2027. Initial applications are now open!
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated in five key areas:
- Impact to the business or institution: Quantifiable achieved value-add to the business or institution (should be large in terms of both overall impact as well as relative to the size of the business). Carefully denote any costs the organization incurred and elaborate on which gains are realized versus unrealized.
- Impact on the forecasting community through advancing a technology, sharing best practices, publications, etc.
- Challenge: What was the original situation? How did you overcome challenges? How did the stakeholders react to the solution? Is the solution scalable to other business lines or industries?
- Attribution: Why is your implementation related to forecasting, and what portion of the value-add is attributable to forecasting? What portion of the value-add was attributed to the entrant’s efforts?
- Quality: Quality of the application and presentation.
