The International Institute of Forecasters (IIF) is is excited to share that Bahman Rostami-Tabar, Professor of Analytics and Decision Sciences at Cardiff University, and Founder & Director of Data Lab for Social Good Research Group, has been awarded the Lyn Thomas Impact Medal 2025 from the Operational Research Society at the Blackett Lecture 2025 Award Ceremony, held at the Royal Society in London on December 2, 2025.

This Medal is awarded annually for the academic OR research which best demonstrates both novelty and real-world impact, backed up by evidence, and it recognizes the work Bahman Rostami-Tabar has been leading since early 2017 on forecasting and analytics for social good, including efforts to make these tools broadly accessible mainly in developing countries!
