We are pleased to announce a new award for the best papers published in the International Journal of Forecasting, special issues, devoted to the M Forecasting competitions. The two, best two paper awards are:
- Best M paper award — US$4000 and an engraved plaque
- Outstanding M paper award — US$2000 and a certificate
Nominations are invited from all readers of the IJF. Each reader may nominate up to three papers, but they cannot nominate a paper which they have co-authored. All nominations are to be accompanied by a short statement (up to 200 words) from the nominator, explaining why the paper deserves an award. The award committee (consisting of Spyros Makridakis, Pierre Pinson, Elaine Deschamps, Fotios Petropoulos, and Evangelos Spiliotis) will go through the nominations and decide on which papers will receive the “Best M paper award” and the “Outstanding M paper award”. Papers co-authored by award committee members are not eligible.
At this stage, we would like to invite you to send us your nominations for the best papers published in the M4 competition special issue for IJF (2020, Volume 36, Issue 1). The deadline for nominations, along with a short statement of support, is February 28, 2021. Nominations should be sent to Fotios Petropoulos. The winners will be announced at the International Symposium on Forecasting (ISF) 2021.
A second round of this award will follow the publication of the M5 Competition special issue. If you would like to contribute a paper to the M5 competition special issue, please click here for the call for proposals.
Finally, we would like to thank Spyros Makridakis and the Makridakis Open Forecasting Center (MOFC) for their generosity in establishing this award.
